How to use CMV
Short, plain-language guides for every part of CryptoMarketView. No jargon required — follow a section below, or jump to the feature you want to learn.
Get started in three minutes
CMV is an ad-free place to follow crypto prices and open full candlestick charts. Create a free account first — watchlists and charts need you to be signed in.
- Open Create account. Use your email and a password, or continue with Google, Microsoft, or Apple if those buttons appear.
- After you sign in you land on your watchlist. It already has popular pairs such as BTC and ETH so you have something to look at right away.
- Tap any row to open its chart. That is the main loop: watchlist for prices, chart for a closer look.
Tip
Already have an account? Use Sign in. You can also sign in with a passkey if you set one up later in Security.
Build and use your watchlist
The watchlist is your home screen. Each row shows the live price, how much it moved in the last 24 hours, market cap, and trading volume.
- Find Add a symbol at the top of the page (on a phone, tap the + button).
- Type a name or ticker — for example BTC, ETH, or SOL. Results update as you type.
- If you see more than one exchange, tap the venue chips to filter (for example Binance only). Then tap the pair you want. It is added to your list.
- Tap a row to open the chart. Prices flash green or red as they tick so you can see live movement at a glance.
Multiple lists
Tap the list name to switch between watchlists, create a new one, or rename it. In that sheet, tap Edit and drag the handle to reorder your lists.
Sort the list
Use Custom to keep your own order, or sort by name, price, 24h change, market cap, or volume. Tap the same option again to flip A→Z / high→low.
Reorder and remove pairs
Tap Edit (pencil icon on a phone), then drag the handle to reorder pairs, or tap Remove next to the rows you no longer want. Tap Done when you are finished.
Tip
Your watchlists sync with your CMV account, so the same lists show up on web and mobile. A green Live badge in the header means prices are streaming. If it says Connecting or Offline, wait a moment or check your connection.
Compare two coins with a ratio pair
A ratio answers “how is coin A doing versus coin B?” For example, LTC/BTC shows how many Bitcoin one Litecoin is worth. If the ratio rises, LTC is gaining on BTC.
- On the watchlist, tap Add ratio.
- Search and pick the first pair (A — the top of the fraction), then the second pair (B — the bottom).
- Confirm to add it. The list shows a ÷ badge so you can tell ratios apart from normal pairs.
- Tap the row to open a ratio chart, with the same tools as a normal chart.
Tip
Pick the same quote currency on both sides when you can (two USDT pairs, for example). That keeps the comparison clean.
Read and move around a chart
Each candle is one slice of time. The body shows where price opened and closed; the wicks show the high and low. Green usually means the close was higher than the open; red means it closed lower.
- Open a chart from the watchlist, or from Chart in the menu.
- The top of the chart shows the pair, the live price, and the 24-hour change.
- Move around: drag (or swipe) left and right to look at older or newer candles.
- Zoom: scroll with the mouse wheel, or pinch with two fingers on a trackpad or phone.
- Move the pointer (or hold a finger) on the chart to see the exact price at that moment. A readout appears on the price axis.
Tip
If you pan back in time, CMV loads more history automatically. Your zoom and position are remembered for that pair, so you can leave and come back.
Change the timeframe
The timeframe is how much time each candle represents. A 1-minute chart is for short moves; a daily or weekly chart is for the bigger picture.
- Tap the clock / interval control in the chart toolbar (on a phone it sits under the chart).
- Pick an interval. They are grouped: minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months — from 1 minute up to multi-month candles.
Tip
Start with 1 hour or 1 day if you are new. Switch down to 5 or 15 minutes only when you need more detail. CMV remembers your last interval.
Add technical indicators
Indicators are extra lines or panels that summarise price or volume. Some sit on the price chart (moving averages). Others open in a pane underneath (RSI, MACD).
- Tap Indicators (the pulse icon on a phone).
- Search by name, or browse the list, then tap one to add it.
- To remove it, open Indicators again and tap the active item, or use the remove control next to it.
Indicators you can add:
- Simple / Exponential Moving Average — a smoothed average of recent prices.
- Bollinger Bands — an average with upper and lower bands that widen when the market is busy.
- VWAP — volume-weighted average price for the day.
- RSI and Stochastic RSI — show whether a move has been stretched.
- MACD — compares two moving averages to highlight momentum.
- ATR — how large typical candles are (volatility).
- Stochastic Oscillator — where the close sits in the recent high–low range.
- On-Balance Volume — running total of volume on up versus down days.
Tip
Add one or two at first so the chart stays readable. Your indicator set is saved and reused on other pairs.
Draw on the chart
Use drawings to mark a trend, a level, or an angle. They stay on that pair until you remove them.
- Open the draw tools (brush icon on a phone, or the Trend / Ray / Angle buttons on desktop).
- Choose a tool, then click (or tap) the points described below. Tap the same tool again to put the cursor back to normal.
- Drag the line or its handles later if you need to nudge it.
- Trend — two clicks: start and end of a line.
- Ray — two clicks: origin, then direction. The line continues past the second point.
- Angle — three clicks: the corner, then each leg.
Horizontal price lines
Hover or hold on the chart so the price label appears on the right. Tap the + on that label and choose to add a horizontal line at that price — useful for support, resistance, or a level you are watching.
Line style
With a drawing tool selected you can change colour and thickness so your marks stay easy to tell apart.
Price scale and screenshots
Linear or log scale
Linear treats every dollar the same — a $100 move looks the same at any price. Log treats percentages the same, which is often clearer when a coin has moved a long way over months or years.
Auto or manual fit
Auto always fits the visible candles on screen. Manual keeps the scale where you put it — drag the price axis up or down to zoom the height. Switching to Manual also happens if you drag the plot vertically.
Save a picture
- Tap the camera icon.
- Choose Chart only, or Chart + indicators if you want the extra panes included.
- The image downloads (or saves to Photos on a phone) with the pair name on it.
Account, theme, and security
Find your way around
On a computer, use the top links for Home, Watchlist, and Chart, and the menu button (three lines) for Help, theme, and account. On a phone, the bar at the bottom has Watchlist, Chart, Account, and Menu.
Light or dark
Open the menu and choose Dark or Light. CMV remembers your choice on this device.
Profile and sign out
Open Account to see the name and email on the session. Sign out from Account or from the menu when you are done.
Make sign-in safer
In Security you can:
- Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
- Add a passkey so you can sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device lock instead of typing a password.
- Link Google, Microsoft, or Apple if those options are available.
Tip
A passkey plus two-factor auth is the most comfortable everyday setup: fast on your own devices, and an extra check if someone gets your password.
Quick tips
- Start simple. Watchlist → tap a pair → try one timeframe and one indicator before turning everything on.
- Search beats browsing. Type the coin name; you do not need the full ticker like BTCUSDT.
- Ratios are for relative strength. Use them when you care how two coins move against each other, not just in dollars.
- Log scale for long history. If older candles look squashed, switch from Linear to Log.
- Check Live. If prices look frozen, look at the connection badge before assuming the market is quiet.
- This is a charting tool. CMV shows live prices and analysis tools. It does not give investment advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell.
